The problem

Your shipper writes "Goods." The carrier's system rejects it. Your truck is leaving in three hours.

Since 4 May 2026, the EU's ICS2 rules reject Entry Summary Declarations that contain vague terms — "Goods", "Parts", "Apparel", "FAK", "Chemicals" and a growing published list. The descriptions come straight off the shipper's invoice, and you can't change the invoice. So someone on your team rewrites every flagged line by hand, item by item, hoping they got the classification right — or it gets held at the border.

Tradelint does that rewriting for you, in seconds, and keeps a record that it was done properly.

How it works

Three steps. No new software to learn.

1

Forward the invoice

Email the commercial invoice PDF to your private Tradelint address. That's the whole interface — it works from any inbox, on any device, with no login.

2

We rewrite & a human checks

Tradelint reads every line, flags the stop words, and rewrites them into specific, compliant descriptions using the HS code as context. Anything ambiguous goes to your compliance team for one-click approval.

3

Get a compliant CSV

A clean, ENS-ready CSV lands back in your inbox — every line either compliant or clearly flagged for manual attention. Upload it to your filing system and move the freight.

Why it's safe to rely on

A controlled compliance workflow — not a black-box AI guess.

Human-in-the-loop

Your compliance team approves every flagged item before a production CSV is generated. The AI suggests; a person decides.

Output is re-checked

Every rewrite is run back through the stop-word filter to confirm it's actually clean. If anything slips through, it's flagged for review — not shipped.

Full audit trail

Original text, flagged terms, the rewrite, who approved it and when — all logged. Evidence that a controlled process happened.

Always-current rule list

We track the EU Commission's published stop-word updates. When the list grows, your checks update — every result is stamped with the ruleset version used.

HS-code aware

Rewrites use the line's HS code as context and never invent specifics that would change its customs classification.

UK/EU data handling

GDPR-aligned, EU-region processing, with data-protection and EU AI Act transparency built in. DPA available on request.

Who it's for

Made for the forwarders the big platforms ignore.

A fit if you're…

  • A UK freight forwarder or customs agent handling 10–500+ shipments a month
  • Fixing vague invoice descriptions by hand, under time pressure
  • Too small to justify enterprise customs software — but tired of carrier rejections
  • Wanting a repeatable, evidenced process your compliance team trusts

Probably not, if you…

  • Already run a full enterprise TMS with built-in ICS2 handling that works for you
  • Need direct ENS filing and carrier messaging integrations today (that's on our roadmap, not now)
  • File only a handful of declarations a year — manual is fine at that volume
Pricing

Cheaper than enterprise software. Safer than manual review.

Simple monthly plans by volume. No setup fees. Cancel with 30 days' notice.

Questions

The things forwarders ask first.

Are you actually filing the ENS for me?
No. Tradelint fixes the goods-description data quality before filing — it hands you a compliant CSV to upload through your existing system. The declarant remains responsible for the final filing. That's deliberate: it keeps you in control and keeps the price low.
We're nervous about putting invoices through an AI.
Reasonable. The AI only ever suggests — your compliance team approves each flagged item before any production CSV is generated, every rewrite is re-checked against the stop-word list, and the whole decision is logged. You get the speed of automation with a human signature on the output.
Can't we just buy the stop-word list and do it ourselves?
You can — it's published. The hard part isn't the list; it's rewriting each vague line into something specific and HS-consistent, catching the ones that need a human, keeping current as the EU updates the list, and holding an audit trail. That's what you're paying for.
How is this different from CargoWise / Descartes / iCustoms?
Those are full platforms that need onboarding, integration and training. Tradelint does one thing and needs none of that: you email an invoice, you get a clean CSV back in under a minute. It sits alongside whatever you already use.
The EU keeps adding terms — will we fall behind?
That's exactly why this is a service, not a one-off. We monitor the Commission's published updates and refresh the list for every customer automatically, and stamp each result with the ruleset version it was checked against.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing to test the demo — forward any invoice PDF to demo@in.tradelint.co.uk and see the CSV it produces. When you're ready for live use, start with a £200, 7-day founder-supported pilot.

See it work on one of your own invoices.

Forward any commercial invoice PDF to the address below. You'll get an ICS2-compliant CSV back in under 60 seconds — no signup, no sales call required. The file is yours to use either way.
